The Tower Bells

In 1921 a chime of 11 bells was built by the McNeely Foundry in Watervliet, New York, was installed in the tower of Saint Paul’s Church. Originally played mechanically, in 1956 the mechanism was replaced by electrical controls. Following a restoration of the tower in 1984 the bell playing mechanism was rebuilt with new clappers and computer controls. As the level of electronic sophistication increased the computer controls were upgraded in 1992 and 2007. Three additional bells, built by the Paccard Foundry in France, were added in 2004, made possible by a gift from Natalie and Lansing Lee in thanksgiving for their children.
