The Nursery Guild

The Nursery Guild is a group
of women dedicated to
serving the smallest members of our church, our "Little
Lambs." While many of the Guild's members are mothers of
young children, being a Mom is NOT a requirement.
The members of the Nursery Guild extend a warm welcome to you and your
family. Please stop by the nursery so we can meet you!
The Guild:
- provides dinners for new moms and their
families
and brings a gift to new babies,
- provides baptism information to families
with new
children, acts as hostess at both baptism rehearsals
and the day of baptism, makes the baptism banners,
and celebrates baptisms annually at the Parish Pentecost
Picnic,
- serves as nursery volunteers and Sunday
school
teachers,
- cleans, organizes and decorates the
nursery annually
on Nurture the Nursery Day and provides Nursery
Open House Days,
- holds casserole sales as fund raisers
for the Nursery and Nursery Guild projects,
- provides a support network for new moms
and
young women, and provides pastoral care and social
events for young families.
Philosophy
As members of Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, we uphold the
rights of children and celebrate that children are a sacred gift from
God. In cherishing that sacredness, we carry a commitment to
enable all children to experience the fullness of life as Jesus taught
and to love, shelter, protect, and defend all children in our care.
He
took a little child and had him stand among them. Taking him
in his arms, he said to them, "Whoever welcomes one of these little
children in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me does not
welcome me but the one who sent me." Mark 9:36-37
In keeping to our commitment to love, shelter, protect, and defend all
children in our care, all Nursery workers and volunteers are required
to attend “Safeguarding God’s Children”
training that is offered by the Diocese. Background checks
are also done on all workers and volunteers to ensure the safest
environment possible for our Little Lambs. The Nursery at
Saint Paul’s Church is in compliance with all laws and
guidelines set forth by Richmond County, including CPR training, and we
strive to provide quality care to every child.
